A small village about 30km away from Kudat town. Populated by mostly Muslims family and there are also few families whom are non-Muslims but they live happily without any issues. They are in fact relative to each other. The village was initially opened by Javanese way back in 1940s during the Japanese occupation of North Borneo. The first leader or better known as Ketua Kampung was by the name of Suharto who married to a native lady. Being a small village there were not much development received by the inhabitant. Electricity was only available in 2006 and at present the people are still relying on water from well and rains. Total population is roughly 150 - 200 people the most. Despite being left behind in terms of development and unavailability of basic infrastructure and facilities, there are people from the kampung who managed to enroll and successfully completed theirs studies in several fields, being in an accountancy, finance, teaching, engineering, forestry, agriculture, bio-technology, etc. Some of them in fact have completed Masters (e.g. MBA) and professional certification in accountancy such as (ACCA - Association Chartered Certified Accountants).

Ha...this is the primary school I go to and finish my primary six in 1975. Since then, it has changed a lot. Once in a while when I pass by the school it bring back memory of "Lau Liew" the displine master who did not like non christian students. The principle "Ho Shong Vun" is just as mean. He call us "MOO KUI" or the ghost. Well...well.... I hope the god has forgive both of them. Yes.....if you do read...why not leave a note. Voo Feb/2010
